Denver Metro Area residents have experienced a dramatic increase in the cost of rent along with the consistent increase of property values for sale. According to a recent Denver Business Journal article Denver area rents are approaching the national average which has been 0.7 percent for the past 3 months. Denver was up 0.8 percent, a far cry from national leaders like Portland, Seattle, and Sacramento which were up 1.4 to 1.9 percent.
According to property management software company Yardi Matrix Denver metro is expected to see about a 6.3 percent increase in rent this year, about half of the 11.2 percent increase from last year, while some for the suburban areas are experiencing higher rate increases, such as the city of Arvada with an 8.9 percent increase.
